Affiliate marketing is a strategy where individuals can partner with a business or another individual to promote and sell their products and/or services. We often refer to affiliates as partners or publishers, and you might also see the term “JV”, which stands for Joint Venture partner. Over the past 10-15 years affiliate marketing has grown tremendously and has allowed many people to escape the daily grind of a job becoming successful as their own boss. This prospect is one factor that continues to drive the growth of this industry.
However, is there really a future in Affiliate Marketing?
My answer is a definite YES!
But… affiliate marketers need to provide value, and strategies used in affiliate marketing will need to develop as technology grows.

As you can imagine there are some experts who think affiliate marketing will die a slow death. The overwhelming response from marketing experts sees a definite growth in the industry by providing value, sticking to tried-and-true approaches, and adapting new technologies to promote products and services.

As shown above, two very import aspects of success evolve around value provided and being seen as an authority. It’s also important to be aware of how changes in technology, especially when introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI), effect marketing strategies. Some of these changes can have a negative impact. However, embracing these changes and using them can have an extremely positive effect on the success of your business.
Value and Authority
When choosing products or services to promote and developing marketing campaigns, you’ll want to keep one thing in mind: “How can I help my customers”. Instead of trying to sell anything that comes along, make sure that what you are selling will help your customer. In addition, provide useful information, free products, or links to free products, to help your customers grow and succeed.
Become an authority on the products or services you intend to sell by demonstrating your knowledge and understanding of related subject material. This is accomplished primarily through blogging, which is a very important aspect of becoming successful. Your blogs can than be shared through social media channels, which helps you keep up with trends in how people interact digitally.
Keeping up with Technology
As mentioned, Google is constantly developing their search engine capabilities through the use of advanced AI based algorithms. As a result, it’s important to keep up with those changes and adapt. For example, websites that are optimized for mobile experience will have a higher ranking than sites that do not.
On the bright side, you can also take advantage of AI based trends in your own marketing strategies. While this may seem very technical and complicated, there are actually a lot of tools and services available that can be easily incorporated into your marketing.

While most of these products are not actually AI, they are still powerful for increasing conversion rates and keeping customers. In addition, there are AI-powered bots that take automated interaction with customers to a much higher level.
Even though some experts don’t see a future in Affiliate Marketing, there is powerful evidence that this industry will continue to grow and excel into the future. In addition, bringing value, providing authority, and adapting new technologies will ensure your success as an affiliate marketer.
